This part of you might be behind the hesitation
April 16, 2025
What’s your creative signature?
April 30, 2025I’ve always been captivated by what lies beneath the surface.
What shapes us.
What drives us.
What stories live quietly within, silently directing our choices, our voice, our creations.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been drawn to books about the subconscious mind, healing through imagination, and the power of our early experiences. Books like ‘They f*ck you up’, ‘The drama of the gifted child’, even ‘Talking with serial killers’. I didn’t just want to know what someone was doing I wanted to understand why. I wanted to trace the thread all the way back to the beginning.
Because when we understand the origin of something, we can transform it.
We can tend to the root, not just the surface.
We can reclaim the parts of ourselves we abandoned.
And from that place… we rise more fully into who we truly are.
I’ve never been afraid of the deep work. Of exploring the undercurrents, the inner terrain, the tender spaces that so often hold the key to our creative and spiritual power.
Yes, I speak about creativity, magic, voice, and soulful business.
But we can’t access the full potency of those things without visiting the places we’ve hidden.
The parts of us that formed in silence, shadow, or self-protection.
Because that’s where the true alchemy happens.
In client sessions, whether we’re aligning a business, activating a new offering, or rewriting a story that’s kept someone small, we always end up there.
In the roots.
In the early imprints.
In the spaces where our inner child is still holding on.
If we want to expand into our fullest, most magical selves…
We have to start where it all began.
That’s the work that changes timelines. That brings your whole, integrated self into your creations, your business, your leadership, your life.
This past year, I’ve been doing deep work around my own pattern of seeking validation.
It’s been at the core of so many business meltdowns — launching from a place of hope, then spiralling when not as many as I wanted (or even none) respond.
It goes all the way back to trying to earn approval from teachers, peers, adults, parents — and absorbing messages that my worth was tied to what I produced, how well I performed, or how enthusiastically others responded.
Sound familiar?
This same story comes up with nearly every client I work with.
We’ve been conditioned to believe we’re only thriving if we’re growing, earning, scaling. The metrics of “success” are almost always tied to more: more sales, more clients, more visibility… more, more, more.
But what about the subtler signs of success? Like:
- Feeling more at home in your body
- Creating from joy, not pressure
- Saying ‘no’ when your body says no
- Showing up because you want to, not because you’re chasing validation
- Reclaiming the parts of you that were silenced, shamed, or dismissed
- Being more present with yourself and loved ones
- Making choices in your business that honour the Earth, even if they take more time or bring in less money
- Uplifting others through your work, even if it isn’t measurable in likes, sales, or applause
These are the things I deeply care about, as well.
So when the idea came for my next offering — a 5-week experience on working with different expressions of your inner child (or younger you) — a part of me resisted. I shared in my last e-letter that it was my saboteur child not wanting to play, but it was deeper than that…
Do I really want to go into the heaviness of childhood again?
Is it too much to ask people to face these tender places?
Is it really necessary?
But after sitting with it some more, journaling, being honest with myself — I know this is part of what I’m here to hold. To change what comes next, we must first bring love, presence, and healing to what came before.
This work isn’t about therapeutic trauma processing (and if that’s what you need, please honour that).
This space is about re-writing your self-belief.
Your self-trust.
Your self-honouring.
Your self-acceptance.
So that when you show up in your business, you’re doing it from and for you.
Not from old wounds.
Not from chasing approval.
Not because someone told you that’s how it “should” be done.
But because:
Your unique way of seeing the world matters.
Your creative fire matters.
Your intuitive depth matters.
Your one in 8 billion brilliance matters.
This experience ‘Inner Child Alchemy’ is a space to anchor that knowing — deep in your bones — regardless of external feedback, sales numbers, or social media metrics.
Just to add, of course you’re human and are going to desire and want validation and tangible results, and to know your work/creations matter to others. I still do too. That’s the nuanced complexity of this work.
But when you anchor into the inherent truth of your perspective, your value, what you bring because you are YOU, without the addiction-like need for external validation… everything shifts.
You step into your true power as a creator. You reclaim the authority to shape your business and life from within.
It’s deeply liberating.

The pre-work playbook (which is a creative invitation to begin your journey) is going out on 1st May, and the live journey starts on the 22nd May, so you can ease your way in.
And just so you know, I won’t be running this live again as my brain needs variety and likes to move on. So if this speaks to you, and you want the live experience, now is the time to join.
(But, if now isn’t the right moment, you can always join later and do it in your own time – so there is no pressure ever).
Hope to see you and your inner child(ren) there.
See more and join the journey here.
Tara 💛⭐️
P.S. I created a free short quiz, to connect to the inner child who might be running the show behind the scenes. You can see it here.
